Pictures I had to take as a homework assignment.

The Uncanny Valley

Oh gog we're going back to this thing again. Anyway we watched a video on the uncanny valley and how it relates to gaming. Basically the more realistic a game looks the more we'll hate it because we notice the inhuman features of it on the other hand if they give few human characteristics to something we'll like it more. I have to say I understand since they're a lot of times in games when I'm like eeehhhh uuhhhh it looks good but uhmmm eh?

 I do really want to see games go farther though. I want to see what a really photo realistic game can look like and be. At the same time though some of my favorite games have been more stylized than photo realistic like Kingdom Hearts or the Final Fantasy franchise. So I say continue developing both. It might be a while before we reach the other side of the valley but it'd be worth it.

So we be working on rendering

So today I was gonna get started on rendering part of maya (oh happy day huh?). I ended up making this

I have no idea what that is but atleast I figured out the whole eye thing.
on the other hand I also made this.

Make animation

Today I mostly  worked on animation. I'm animating a little sword fight 'cause why not? It helps with leaning animating fluid bodies.

Also awesome concept art.

Thingiverse: The cool things I found

Holey chess from a cow. So today in class we went on this website called Thingiverse. Initially it seemed a lot like this thing called Shapeways that we looked at before.
There's many differences though; you see Thingiverse has much more things than shapeways and also has many animatronics parts. Everything is also free and downloadable. It's purpose is to share ideas and goods for free via 3D printing. This could totally change the world. It's like the things that people wanted or couldn't get before or didn't know how to make are now just right there in front of them. People who don't have high class technology and such can print off everything they need. So you know if you at home randomly and you decide you want to make I dunno a destroyer of the world robot just look around Thingi and pint it out.
World dominating robots aside though these are what I found.

Look at this......look at it. That's a Borderlands mask printed from the 3d computer. Do you know how much time that would save me on my Borderlands cosplay?

Okay look at this awesome frickin clock. It's beautiful no? Atleast I'd want this clock in my room.

Again llllloooookkkkkkk so much time I can cut down on a steampunk cosplay. My cosplay feels are so met.

Okay so maybe it's just me who finds this awesomely amazing? Yeah probably just me because I really like Loki (dat Fem!Loki though). I'd always love to make one of these but never knew how to build the pieces

Oh meh gerhd that took a lot longer than I expected (probably because I slacked off.....). On the upbeat though I finished the helmet.

I don't really like it so much maybe because I didn't like the design of the helmet in the first place but merf.
Again I went in and changed it.
It be a dog now, a really weird dog.

 Atleast I'm almost down with it y'know? Although it's kinda fun making helmets like this though makes you wonder how long it took to make Halo armor.

On the other hand I'm doing this comic thingy. I figured I'd start using photoshop to make some comics with it's nice neat little (Read: Frustrating) pen tool.
