Almost done with my kingdom hearts picture, I spent a lot of time but I'm liking how it's looking.

So This year my main objective was to make another full children's book which I completed and you can see in my later posts. Along with them though I also completed three concept design pallettes.


Towards the end of the year I also did a draw this again Meme with my Virgo character from my sophomore years in class.

As well as other random short pictures I also worked on in class:



A lot of my work went into skill building though with smaller period long projects to better my skills in photoshop, using Illustrator and sketchbook as well as using new techniques.

Attempting to add the finishing colors on the keyblade, Then all that's left would be to put it into the picture and quickly finish the background.

Art Show 2016

This is a really fast piece that I cranked out during the Art show as a way to demonstrate photoshop skills. Overall I kinda like it but I loved mostly just being in the art show it was so different than usual art shows because we had just about everything to 2d art, to special effects make up to drones there was just so many things that we've accomplished in this class that it's amazing. I think everyone had a fun time.

Almost done with the figure, I  just have to collar in the zipper, yellows and her collar with some more shading and then I'll be starting on the keyblade, oh all the jolly fun that will be.

Update on the top of my mandala thingies for my kingdom hearts stained glass picture. Lots of different line weight practice and texture brushes to help achieve what they originally looked like.

So for those of you who don't know, Kingdom Hearts has to be my all time favorite video game series and probably one of the video game series that features my favorite art in terms of concept directions, world settings, and character design. Within the video game each main character has to take part in a "dive into a heart" which is basically the tutorial level for us. The amazing part about these dive into the hearts is they feature a "stained glass" feature for each main character that generally looks like the following.

I always thought that these were so beautiful because it was a fun take on mendala designs and stained glass so I really wanted to make one of my own. Mine's going to be based off of Kingdom Hearts Chi which doesn't have any awakening designs as of yet (technically). In chi you create your own keyblade character so that's who I will use as the focal point for it.

Virgo: The Maiden

Finished painting of my Virgo piece. For me this was actually part of a draw this again mean that I'll post in a little bit as this virgo design was the first design I'd ever fully drew in Cornell's class. I really like the nebula in her jacket and overall enjoyed her green tones. I don't know if I'll draw any of the other zodiacs but I do have design for all of them respectively.

Red Riding Hood Light Box

The finished product for my light box picture. I change the background for the PSD file so it could be a more stand alone picture before I turned it into a light box. I was very happy to play around with the gradiant tool as it made me try a lot of different combinations to get the subtle red tint in red riding hood. I still have to take it into Adobe illustrator and live trace then cut the pieces out to have a finished real light box but I really like the picture as it is now too.

Lightbox

Light box design project. I was intrigued by the light box ideas so drew up this. It's based off of the red riding hood fairy tail this being the rough draft. I Liked the design overall so my next step is to line art over with fine lines.

Virgo update

Update on my virgo painting. I still have to finish and polish her left arm and background until I'm totally done (plus her hair too of course). I added in a gradient overlay of a nebula for her inside jacket which I think looks really good after I played around with the levels settings. all in all I think I'll be really happy with how this'll come out. Fun fact though this is the first drawing I've finished that no lineart was used at all which was a completely different experience than usual.

Japanese Koi fish

The first part to my mini koi fish project. I really hate drawing scales and it's so hard to make each and everyone consistent and same width, if this was a bigger project I could see myself spending a whole day just on scales themselves but alas I'll probably just leave them as is. A lot of work on gradients now since it been a while since I used the tool.
